| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 28, 2007 Poured to a golden yellow with good carbonation, and a thin white head that lingered as a film on the glass throughout the drink, and left excellent lacing on the glass. Hoppy aroma of apples, grass and cirus fruit. Taste was more of the same, and as the beer warmed, the 7.5% alcohol became just noticeable enough to blend in nicely. Dry, somewhat bitter aftertaste topped this beer off nicely.
Another good effort by Clipper City. IPAndy (120), minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 8, 2007 Loads of citrus in the scent and flavor. Malt provides a good backbone for what is otherwise a hoppy brew. Palate is crisp, but heavier than I would like. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2007 Bottle. Gold/light amber color with a frothy off-white head. Lots of bubbles. Lemony-orange hop, grass, straw and doughy malt aromas. Slightly sweet cereal malt flavor, with a bit of honey, fruit and grassy hops. Slightly fizzy palate. Interesting take on a pilsner. johnykat (65), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 2, 2007 I would have rated this beer a little higher, but I’ve sampled it a few times and it seems inconsistant. A few times I’ve had it I found it to be a nice pils (with all the normal pilsner taste). Then other times I have it, the taste is close but it has some fruit (peach-type) flavor to it. I don’t really enjoy it when it has the fruity taste. I don’t know if this has to do with some changing of ingredients? But the most of the bottles I’ve had were around the same "age". | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Pours a slightly hazy light amber with a medium white head. Nose of fresh cut grass and a touch of citrus. Taste is similar to beefed up version of Pilsner Urquell (which is what I imagine the brewer is trying to achieve). Fairly crisp and dry finish and silky texture without too much carbonation. TrevorFloyd (309), Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Essentially a hopped up, beefed up lager. Nothing overly complex in the flavor, but enough to make it worthwhile. Enjoyable. cbrixius (136), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 26, 2006 Nothing too exciting on the nose, a slightly pine hop aroma. Poured a pretty clear golden with a frothy white head. Light character and a bit watery. Good for a lager, probably my least favorite styles. A bit strawy, but not very complex. I wasn’t too impressed. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 25, 2006 Pours golden/copper with a small fading white head. Aroma is a bit light overall, but there is nice overall floral hoppiness, and some nice malt character. Flavor is heavy on the malt, but there is nice hop spiciness throughout. Palate is a bit oily, medium, lightly sweet, and little hop spice and bitterness overall. Interesting and fairly complex, worth trying.
