Nose of fresh cut grass and a touch of citrus. Taste is similar to beefed up version of Pilsner Urquell (which is what I imagine the brewer is trying to achieve). Fairly crisp and dry finish and silky texture without too much carbonation. TrevorFloyd (309), Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Essentially a hopped up, beefed up lager. Nothing overly complex in the flavor, but enough to make it worthwhile. Enjoyable. cbrixius (136), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 26, 2006 Nothing too exciting on the nose, a slightly pine hop aroma. Poured a pretty clear golden with a frothy white head. Light character and a bit watery. Good for a lager, probably my least favorite styles. A bit strawy, but not very complex. I wasn’t too impressed. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 25, 2006 Pours golden/copper with a small fading white head. Aroma is a bit light overall, but there is nice overall floral hoppiness, and some nice malt character. Flavor is heavy on the malt, but there is nice hop spiciness throughout. Palate is a bit oily, medium, lightly sweet, and little hop spice and bitterness overall. Interesting and fairly complex, worth trying. brownaler (379), Topsail Beach, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2006 Clear amber appearance with minimal heed. Aroma is strong saaz hops with a malt character. Has a strong spice flavor typical of bohemian pilsners, but enhanced here. After a disappointing imperial stout, this brewery is impressive. Sammy (4062), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 23, 2006 Everything labelled double pilsner I have enjoyed, including this restrained clean and refreshing pilsner. Complex and great with food, restrained on the palate. I would have this regular if I could, thank you for bringing back Dr. Jay. As a European strong lager it is amazing no less.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2006 A white 1-finger head atop a pleasing straw-amber base. Perhaps the beer was a bit too cold or perhaps (more likely) my nose is burnt out from sampling too many IPAs recently but I had a tough time detecting much aroma. Light hints of floral and citrus laced with an overall malty character were detectable as the beer warmed up a bit. Smooth mouth feel and sweet malty flavor followed by a lingering bitterness. Not a particular fan of this style but I applaud the brewers on a well made beer. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 19, 2006 Medium copper pour, soft white head. faint lacing. Slight cereal in the aroma, some faint ripe fruitiness as well. Some honey dew melon in the flavor, bit of not-expensive white wine, some yeast and raisins to round it out. Very thick mouthfeel for the style - high point of this one. Flavor loses some of its luster near the bottom of the glass as it warms and turns slightly boozy. High ABV is felt, not a detractor though. Brought back from Aurelius on his Baltimore trip - Thanks!
