| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2006 Thanks to kmweaver for going out of his way to send this for free! Clear golden body with a large head, decent lacing. Aroma is grassy hops, hint of fruits, bread, some butteryness. Flavor is the same, very smooth with vague bock notes. Like 90% Pils, 10% bock. muenster (341), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Bottle. Pours gold, with a thin off-white head. Aroma of mild hops, and malts, not much going on in that department, I’m starting to notice a pattern with Clipper City beers. Flavor is sweet malts, with mild hop characteristics present. Not offensive, session beer material, like all the other Clipper City offerings I have tried. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 11, 2006 Nice clear golden orange leaning a bit toward the orange side. Moderate carbonation with nice foamy head. Clean and crisp hop aroma, slightly dry. Sweet, crisp, and clean flavor. Lots of wonderful hoppiness comes through without being too hoppy or bitter. A touch of alcohol in the flavor as well, but it is well blended with the other flavors. Dry, almost sharp finish that is quite refreshing and fulfilling. Full palate, quite smooth over all. This is one nice pils/stong lager! Quite tasty and quite recommended! This one is memorable.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Pours a very lightly hazy golden orange with an average bubbly white head that left lacing and did a decent job at sustaining. Aroma of an orange lightly floral hop, on the sweeter malty side. Also getting some honey and a little buttery and I was also picking up some iced tea characteristics. Flavor of a malty mix that is a bit hard to pinpoint and really explain. Some citrus hops in there with another flavor/bitterness I cannot quite pinpooint. Not really sure I was too into flavors on this one. Liked the aroma more and I saw some others compare this to DFH Golden Showers...enjoy the DFH brew a good bit more. Alcohol was pretty well hidden and the beer was a bit sweet but very dirinkable. I think my bottle may have been a little dated since the hop profile wasn’t as present as some others have noted. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 6, 2006 What a rich full ubber pilsner. Nice. Like DFH Golden Shower this beer is sweet and malty but not so sharply sugary. It is also perfectly dry and hoppy.
I let this one warm and served in my pilsner glass.
Appearance: Pours clear gold and has a hint of amber in the hue. White head. Rather typical in appearance and then the surprises begin.
Smell: Some doughy attributes and then a grassy hop character fill the nose with a rich and full aroma (for a pilsner).
Taste & Mouthfeel: Extremely approachable and even more quaffable! This beer is front loaded with sweet bready malt flavors. It is so smooth its ridiculous the mouthfeel is almost an extension of the flavor. The flavors are beautifully complex as the sweet teeters off into the bitter and the entire experience seems well orchestrated and planned to a T. All the way through the beer there is a zippy spicy element that keep you on your toes. The aftertaste is glorious, dry and grassy but balanced with hints of sweetness, and last just long enough for you to begin to revel in it but then fades before you start to worship it. That requires you to drink another sip to get more which leads us to drinkability.
Drinkability: DANGEROUS! The 7.5% ABV is so well hidden you won’t know it’s over five, until the third one. This beer is so refreshing and easy to put back, you’ll wonder after the second why do a feel so warm and the third will still go down. Certainly it is not a session beer but unfortunately you don’t figure that out right away ;-) it is so tasty and drinkable.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!

Fizzy white small head with poor lacing, minimal carbonation, transparent, and a golden hue. Nose was sweet, malty and hoppy. Flavor was bitter, hoppy and finished somewhat dry.
