| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 18, 2006 Bottle - thanks to Antzman for the trade! This beer has a beautiful appearance. Deep straw colored with just a touch of green - or am I seeing things? Nice, nice white head and great lacing. Spicy, piney hops in the nose. The flavor is delicious! Malty sweetness hiding the 7.5%. Hop bitterness at the sides of my tongue as the swallow slowly fades. Full-bodied. Really enjoyed this one! TerryR (383), Oswego, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2006 Golden body with a fluffy white had that almost fades away. Grapefruit, pine and orange peel in the arome. Some sweet malt flavors come through followed by more orange peel and a crisp hop finish. Full bodied and quite effervescent. A unique style and my first beer grom this brewery. I am impressed. Aurelius (2648), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 14, 2006 Piney cereal aroma. Honey gold with a frothy head. Fun label. Well bittered, mouthy, tartish, cereal, some metal, a bit briney (I’m drinking it warm.) Finish is bitter and lightly astringent. A strudy craftbrew lager. jordanartuso (26), lansing, Michigan, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2006 Pours deep golden in color, with a nicely dense head, mild retention and nice lace. I get some soap to the nose, intermixed with hops. A nice pils, decently hopped, with a good amount of malts. There is a hint of soapy sweetness upfront, and a good bitter back. Feels nice and heavy-ish for a pils, and this matches the complexity. Nicely done. JFURYCAT (791), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2006 I’ve played with the Clipper City Heavy Seas variety case and initially I was drawn to other beers but this one seems to stand out the most. It is basically a pils packed with complex flavors whether they be that grapefruit and citrus tone which glides with a finish that has bitter aspects but is superbly balanced with an orange-peel like flavor. The finish is medium-its not watered down and its not too dry. There is some grassiness here which brings down the other elements I listed above.
