These imperial/uber pilsners are growing on me as a style, much better than the boring old pilsner style. This one poured with a bit of orange and copper color. The head was decent and the lacing typical. The aroma was of honey and some lightly grassy hops. The hop flavors were very much secondary in this one, almost too underplayed if there is a fault, and the rich pils and caramel malts came through strongest with light honey and very light grass. The hopping added a dryness to the mouthfeel along with a bit of a spicey zest in the finish. A nice beer.

12-oz. bottle from artusory. Pours a clean and clear deep gold with some hints of orange and a tiny, quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is sour malt (grain, meal, straw), yeast (sweat) and light floral hops. Moderate acidity and bitterness, buttery malt, grain and hay flavor, medium sweetness, finish is dry. Light bodied, fizzy, crisp and dry palate.

It poured a clear, light gold with a nice white head that lasted. My first reaction was of a lightly hopped smooth beer, true to a Pils. Subsequent sips identified a good malt flavor and a pleasant aftertaste.

clear golden with a small white head. aroma light malt with some floral hops. flavor mostly sweet and malty with a dry bitter hoppy finish. medium bodied with lively carbonation. decent pilsner. i was hoping for a bit more.

Robe blonde dorée surmontée d’une mince mousse blanche qui s’estompe. Arômes de houblon résineux. Saveurs de malt caramélisé et de houblon aromatique résineux.

Bottle. Pours golden with a slight haze and off white head. Aroma of honey, pale malts, and biscuit. Initial flavor of pilsner on steroids, honey, and grass. Finish could use some work, as I sensed a small amount of rubbing alcohol flavor and some metallic notes. Still decent.

Pours a nice copper gold with a fair head and shows a steady stream of rising bubbles. Nice big hop aroma with with a touch of malts. First thing I notice in the flavor is a good overall balance. A bit of biscuity malt with a great balance of hops in the finish. Deeper into the brew I notice some other complex flavors including a lemon wheat grass tone and a sweet metallic note. More pilsner than bock but with a medium and fizzy mouthfeel. A bit better than I expected for such an odd style brew.

Bottle: Orange with a thin head. Nice mostly hoppy aroma. All-around nice drinker ... well-balanced hop-malt beer. Flavors fall into the American Pale family, I’d have thought ... quite excellent.
