Overheard: "Can strip some paint with that." "Is that a good thing?"

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Decent, not especially pilsener tasting. Drank right before the Sam Adams Imperial Pils. This one was much weaker and much less hoppy. Surprisingly light tasting and light bodied. Lightly sweet with a reasonably crisp finish. Pretty drinkable overall. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 5, 2009 Aroma is notably moderate hops. The color is a dark golden amber in color, with a medium white head, the head disipates quickly. The flavor is not as overly hoppy and well malted. Its ending is decently smooth. ben4321 (1061), Rockville, Maryland, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Bottle - Poured a darkish golden amber in color with a medium white head that faded to a thin covering over the beer. A small amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma is mostly of grassy hops, but there is some malt and bready yeastiness as well. Flavor is not as hoppy as I expected with a much better malt structure than anticipated. Some hops do come through in the flavor profile, but they are not as dominant as they are in the aroma. Finish is slightly malty and bitter with hops. I expected a stronger hop flavor... still pretty good. glennmastrange (868), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 17, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt notes of cereal and nutty, herbs for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with toffee, pepper and alcohol in the background. Head is frothy, off-white with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is sparkling clear medium amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet, moderately acidic and a touch sour, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic, and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily and has a soft carbonation. It has a sweetness I wasn’t expecting. Not a bad beer, just didn’t seem true to style. smith4498 (952), Miami, Florida, USA
