| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 15, 2004 Bottle - thanks to axilla for the trade. Pours gorgeous redditsh amber with a moderate beige head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is mild, malty with a floral hoppiness. Good flavor, nice balance of sweet, mild malts and bold hops - assertive but not overpowering. Light to medium body and brash carbonation. Nice beer and very enjoyable. Too bad they only make this in winter... crzybob77 (528), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2004 This is a fine strong ale - sure, maybe the malts and alc% veer it towards IIPA, but geez, I’ve tasted more hops in some regular pale ales. Ok, the aroma has a big hop - piney, citrus, some sweetness. Taste is sweet thick bready malts and a super tasty orange juice hop with hints of pine. I really do like this. Nice hoppy/piney aroma. Flavor was more subdued than the aroma let on.
Hoppy, but not overly so. Nice malt balance.
