Commercial Description:
Modeled after the style of beer produced in Baltimore just after Prohibition. The beer is pale in color, is made with 100% malt, and has a very mild Hersbrucker hop character. A great example of the kind of beer our grandfathers consumed.

bottle BB oct/08 by way of beachbum25... pours pale gold/yellowy-orange with a small quickly dissipating white head. smells a bit like kombucha tea and lemon... fruity, lightly spicy and herbal as well. it tastes like grains that have slightly soured along with hot tea, pale/light malt, honey and unidentifiable fruit with a somewhat dry finish. light body and prickly carbonation. weird...

Bottle courtesy of beachbum25. Pours gold with a white head. Smells spicy and earthy with some fruity hints. Tastes vegetal and citrussy with a light peppery finish.

This beer is a great alternative to mass market brews... and at a good price regionally. In the summer these go down quickly when ice cold. There’s a lot more flavor and depth here than you might expect for such a simple, relatively light beer.

100th rate, and with a Baltimore classic. Draft at the brewery tour. Smooth, with a small retaining head. Not too much going on but a very good brew for the style.

Good color and maintains a good head while pouring. Not expensive in the Md area. Better choice over Bud any day.

It was very nice of my friends to have this in the fridge when I arrived at their house in Baltimore, but I didn’t enjoy it at all, and all four of us at dinner thought it was pretty disappointing. Dusty, dry, damp gold color, with a moderately astringent hop finish. Bottle.

Pale gold appearance with a small white head and very little lacing. Straw-like aroma along with some tart fruit. Toasted malt flavors, slightly sweet, moderately hopped. Light bodied mouthfeel, well carbonated, with a dry, short lived finish.
