Commercial Description:
Modeled after the style of beer produced in Baltimore just after Prohibition. The beer is pale in color, is made with 100% malt, and has a very mild Hersbrucker hop character. A great example of the kind of beer our grandfathers consumed.

Orange-gold with a puckered head. The vaguest of hop aromas; decent malt foundation here with just a twinkle of a hop kiss to top it off. For a pale lager from an American brewer, this is quite good.

This is what baltimore tastes like? That’s really too bad. A classic pale lager taste, not much head, and its gone in a jiffy. drink it while it’s cold, the flavour doesn’t change much as it warms and that doesn’t help it when it’s not cold anymore. Meh. Not that exciting.

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours pale golden with a white head. Aroma of sweet malts, grass, and hops. Flavor is sweet, bitter finish.

Pours a nice amber color. Aromas of caramel, malts, and a touch of hops. Flavor is malty with a nice hop bitterness.

Bottle. Pours pale golden with a decent sized white head. Aroma of sweet malts, grass, and slight hops. Flavor is sweet, slight hoppy bitterness. Thin body but drinkable, o.k. brew.

Poured from the bottle. Small head that fizzed away quickly. Lots of bubbles. Looks more like ginger ale than beer. Taste is simple, not much of anything... maybe a hint of woodsiness, as others have said -- but nothing dominates this beer. It is pretty full for a lighter style lager, not watery at all. Very fresh and sharp. This is a good summer beer, it goes well with eating crabs or any other food in the Baltimore area.

I think this beer is a bit better than the ratings here seem to indicate. I think its got a distinctive "woodsy" taste to it. A fine local brew.

I had higher hopes for this but it turned out to be very average, not bad, but not good. Your standard lager with maybe the tiniest hint of hops toward the end
