Mar 20, 2009 Nice beer that is all caramel. I loved the malt complex on this one, lost of oaties and sugar, with some interesting but very muted nut tastes in the mix. A fine beer.

Jul 21, 2003 Nicely done ale, still produced in small quantities by Clipper City Brewery. On draft it was rich mahagony in pour with a decent offwhite head. Wonderful maltiness reminded me of roasted chestnuts.

Jul 19, 2008 From cask at Northern Virginia Summer BrewFest. Beer pours an slightly darker amber color with a white head. The aroma is sweet, with a nice malt component. Pretty refreshing in my opinion.

Nov 18, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear dark red color with nearly no head. Aroma is caramel with nutty notes and subtle chocolate. Taste is chocolate, caramel, leafy hops, caramel, peach, apple and other subtle fruity notes. Medium bodied.

Aug 23, 2008 12oz bottle. Deep amber brown color with a frothy head. Mellow doughy aroma. A crisp hoppy taste at first sip, which fades into a smooth, medium to light bodied malty sweet finish. A pretty pleasant session beer, but nothing special.

Aug 24, 2008 Pours a deep amber copper with a little white head and low to medium carbonation. Smell is of a sweet lager and the flavor is fruity yet not citrusy--perhaps a slight hint of apple or pear. It feels medium bodied and tart on the tongue with a sweet tartness left afterward. This is a pretty decent amber and the fruity hints make it original and quite drinkable.
