Commercial Description:
Brewed with Bavarian yeast for a refreshing spicy flavor, Oxford Hefeweizen is our classically-styled wheat beer - slightly cloudy and unfiltered. Try it with a wedge of lemon.

Bottle-Hazy gold, almost yellow color with a slight head. The aroma is wheat with come citrus and banana with banana dominating. A bland taste of everything blended together with nothing dominating or even coming to the front. Produce Place 1.49

Bottle from State Line. Pours hazy dark straw with off-white head. Nose is malty, citric, with banana and hop aromas and flavors, and a decent smoothness.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber hue with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Good wheat and rasberry aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium well balanced fruity flavor with a good sweet finish of moderate duration. Good soft drinkable beer.

Small white head upon a hazy gold body. Retention is fair, lacing is minimal. Lightly bready malts in the nose with a hint of bananna, light clove and some yeastiness. Body is light with a soft carbonation, lightly oily on the palate. Flavors follow suit with the aromas though some notes of citrus and bubblegummy notes shine through as well. Lighly sweet, fruity finish. Wow, a tame Hefe.

Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors, in Granite City, IL. Pours a cloudy straw/gold with a loose, frothy, white head that diminishes fairly quickly (a bit too quickly for my tastes). The nose is of round wheat, citrus, clove and light banana. It smells a bit like a blend of a hefeweizen and a witbier. Light to medium-bodied with assertive carbonation, the mouthfeel finishes crisp and slightly astringent. Sweet wheat with supporting notes of coriander, clove and citrus concluding lightly dry and crisp. This is a decent wheat brew, but it seems like it’s attempting to be too many things as once. I guess I just prefer my hefeweizens to be a little less schizophrenic.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy, yellow body with a small, quickly thinning, white head. Smell: Malted wheat aroma with middling notes of stale, dried citrus peel, banana, and coriander. Taste: Sweet malted wheat flavor, a bit crackery. No real defining hop character or bitterness. Light coriander, banana, spice, and a dull taste of citrus. Sweetish, bready finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Rather coating mouthfeel, I’m left looking around for a glass of cool, cleansing water. Drinkability: I am dissatisfied by this hefe. Mediocre, at best.

Pours a very light yellowish pale with not much carbonation. Smells of green apples. First taste is rather bland with a slight bitterness. Very light and mild.
