Commercial Description:
Brewed with Bavarian yeast for a refreshing spicy flavor, Oxford Hefeweizen is our classically-styled wheat beer - slightly cloudy and unfiltered. Try it with a wedge of lemon.

Bottle. Banana, clove, and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-yellow color with slight head. Ripe banana, clove, and wheat malt flavor. Nice body. A very well made Hefe.

bottle - Pours yellow with light haze, very little head, and a mild, citrus aroma. The flavor is sweet and yeasty with a little citrus. It’s light on the palate without being watery. Overall it’s fairly average.

Hazy godl bosy with a bright white head. The aroma is obvious banana and clove. There is also a little bit of almonds. The taste is over ripe bananas with some light clove. There is a little bit of a grassy finish. A decent hefe, but just not well executed.

12 ounce bottle with a simple red label. Fresh mild aroma and a petite head. The flavor is mostly lemon and yeast - fairly robust for a hefeweizen, with a little too much sweet malt shining thru, and nutty hops in the finish. This is a solid American-made hefeweizen that has some similarity to mediocre Eastern European brews like Svytury’s Baltas.

12 oz. bottle, blurb on the neck label and a best before date (Dec/07) along the right side of front label, sampled in a weizen glass. Given your traditional hefeweizen pour. Poured an unfiltered cloudy orangey golden yellow with a frothy white foamy head, ample carbonation, small amount of sticking. I am glad that I gave the last third of the bottle a good swirl because the yeast was definitely trapped in the bottom. A pleasant smelling nose of clove, lemon and banana with a faint sweet breadiness in the background. Smooth, semi-creamy moderate bodied mouthfeel, I wish the body had a little more heft for that creamy full bodied feel that a first rate hefeweizen will have. This is a nice, very quaffable tasting hefeweizen, sweet mushy banana, lemon peel, tangy clove and peppery spiciness. Towards the end a spicy, subtle sweet breadiness emerges, leading towards a dryish finish of sweet banana, sour lemon, sweet malts and sticky clove. I think this is a good take on the traditional hefeweizen style, smooth and balanced, quite enjoyable. Be sure to give this the proper hefeweizen pour because the yeast is most definitely trapped in the bottom of the bottle, otherwise you will get the clear appearance that some others have complained about, also losing a lot of the flavor.

Fairly clear for a hefeweizen, gold bodied with a short white head that fades rapidly. It’s got an aroma of green bananas, wheat flakes, a touch of clove, and a drop of lemon juice. It tastes mainly of wheat flakes and watery lemon juice with a bit of banana thrown in as an afterthought, any spiciness dropping from the picture. Drinkable, but I prefer something more easily recognized as a hefe.

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange w/ light head. Nice aroma of banana and butterscotch. Taste is that of a standard weizen. Good, but not notable.
