Commercial Description:
Brewed with Bavarian yeast for a refreshing spicy flavor, Oxford Hefeweizen is our classically-styled wheat beer - slightly cloudy and unfiltered. Try it with a wedge of lemon.

Bottle and served in my small Ayinger glass: Pours a cloudy golden hue with a fading frothy white head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of banana, clove, lemongrass, biscuity malts and a hint of soap. The taste is rather mundane with wheat and yeasty fruit flavors with some spice upon the finish but it lacks the classic refreshment of the best of the genre. The mouth feel is watery and not sharp. While hardly bad there are much better example on the market.

Unfiltered honey colored beer with absolutely no head and only the thinnest ring around the glass. Aroma is not big but features banana and clove. Lots of fruit in the flavor, especially banana and some orange. Taste reminds me of a baby food banana drink. Clove and spice add some depth to the flavor. This isn’t a very good hefeweizen in that the spice doen’t work well with the other hefe flavors. It leaves a dirty bitterness that is unfortunate.

12oz bottle poured gold with a faint haze. The bright white head lasted a minute or two. The aroma has that sweet malt and wheat odor. Behind that are hints of coriander, yeast, honey and citrus. The flavor is much like the aroma with sweet bland malts, wheat, hints of banana, acidic citrus, lemon, hints of pumpernickel, coriander and yeast. Seems to be an above average Hefe.

Pours hazy orange with a large white head. The aroma has dry wheat, lots of banana and hints of pepper and other spices. Medium crisp body that’s on the chalky side with some semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts with dry chalky wheat, powdered milk and light banana. The finish is overly spiced and sour. Not a very good beer - chalkiness will kill most beers for me.

Pour is a cloudy/hazy orange. Aroma has your banana and clove with some yeast. Flavor is decent with some citrus and clove. Kinda bready finish. A decent example of the style. A little weak around the edges but still quite tasty.

The aroma is nice with banana, wheat, incense, and cloves. The appearance is hazy gold with an average head for the style. The flavor is both sour and bitter with some of the aroma elements. The palate is thin. This is a sour disappointing hefe.

12 oz bottle-@ the brewery-Cloudy mirky yellow color w/a moderate white head. Floral fruity hop aroma. Fresh crisp flavor of wheat, banana, vanilla, citrus, spice, & some hops, but not in an overpowering way. Easy drinking summer brew; very refreshing, very enjoyable. Good flavor, maybe the best pure Hefe/Wheat I’ve had.

Banana’s and nutmeg on the nose. Pours a hazy yellow. Citrusy, banana’s, some spices like nutmeg, and feint signs of allspice. There’s a surprising hop flavor, finishes dry. Leaves me wishing there was a little more to it. But its still refreshing in the Fl. summer!!
