Commercial Description:
As a counterpoint to the Gold, our Pale Ale is distinctly British in character with a firm malt character and a crisp, angular hop finish. Amber in color with a nice earthy aroma.

Lighter shade of amber with a dense off-white head. Smells of a fairly large amount of low a.a. hops, perhaps some english with a malt backbone. Strong flavour at first, both with hops and malt. Medium-bodied; Strong malt aftertaste with a very pertinent hop taste as well. Very nice, and never dull. This is one of the better APA's I've had recently, and is worth trying if you are from around the Washington area! I bought my twelve ounce bottle from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia out of the same batch as JonR888710 (see below).

Yellow body with some red hues. Thick, cream head on top. Smells of sugar and big time hops. Medium to thin body feel in mouth. Taste is extremely interesting with a soapy hop rush, followed by berry and fruit malt, and some misplaced vegetable hop flavors. Aftertaste is bitter malt and hops, fading into the chocolate/coffee realm (some wateriness emerges on the palate as the beer warms). I liked this one a lot, it scores major points for originality. Definatley pick this one up if you see it, but by the single as I can see the unique flavors getting annoying if I had to drink more than 12 ounces of this. I found mine at Total Wine in Mclean, Va.

This is a standard American amber ... dark amber in color. Decent malt-hop balance, although a bit 'metallic'. Average.

Rather simple pale-enough hops to taste but not dominate. Uncomplicated malts. Nothing really stands out in this beer.

Great beer, little aroma, with a nice hoppy bite. This would be great with some wings or some crabs...

Malty aroma behind a deeper-than-pale appearance. Nice hoppy flavor that is not overwhelming. Clean, lingering finish.

Grapefruit nose - high hops, something that I wasn't really expecting. Amber color, and a decent APA. Seems to be in the current mode. Watery and thin mouth.
