Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Nov 24, 2006 A totally unique offering which production is so complicated that it is miles beside the original idea of simple barrel experimentation. This is an 1988 vintage, which received a treatment akin to that of sherries in its voluntary oxidation process. The result is a rather sweet mead with profound oxidized hazelnut skins, mushrooms and pistachios nuances to match along the strong imparted woodiness that lent some tannins to this honey concoction. Rather thick and oily texture, still and filling. Heady, but you would not drink too much of it. An oddity.
