BoBoChamp (649), Gent, Belgium Jul 29, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, yet easy to drink, cloudy, rocky head, good brew MiP (5014), Flensburg, Germany Jul 25, 2008 Bottle, 7%. Sweet and spicy aroma, some raisin. Cloudy orange colour, big stable white head. High carbonation. The flavour is quite spicy and nice, unfortunately a bit dry. A little more sweetness would have made much more interesting to me. yespr (6373), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 9, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours golden orange and hazy with a huge, white and slowly collapsing head. Mild orange fruity and yeasty aroma. Flavour is sweet caramel malt and light yeasty. Holds a smooth yeasty finish with a light lingering spice note. A bit too dry and too simple. MMortier (10), Ghent, Belgium Jul 3, 2008 My favourite proefbrouwerij brew. Fruity and sirupy as it is, there is a common element to all their beers that seems to have reached an optimal equilibrium here. Starts out very sweet but tender complexities cause for a long finish. One to take in large trusty gulps, a very pleasant beer to drink. Don’t believe the 7% though, you can easily underestimate this beer’s effects.
Hard to find, even in Ghent.. I know only two places here that serve this one. All the better, I guess. BartC (250), Lichtaart, Belgium Feb 5, 2008 Copper-red beer.Nice hoppy citrus aroma. Also coriander noticable. Flavour is nicely balanced. Again coriander and citrus but nothin overwhelming. A very nice beer indeed.
