Cask handpump at The Regal (Wetherspoons), Cambridge. Slightly cloudy, gold with a big head. Vinegar scent. Thin and quite sweet. Sugar and grass in the mouth. Not much in it, though.

The Baron. Pale gold with a cream rim. Buttery sock aroma I’m afraid. Tired diacetyl-smothered citrus, some decent grassy undercurrents, jellied orange. Vanilla buttery, some cask and biscuit linger, faint lime and grapefruit. Tired and thin beside the Double Header, but a dribble of character remains.

on tap at the kings head in Monmouth. Golden colour with a scummy looking head. Aroma of malt with some barley taste of malt with some hops. Smooth. Expected it to taste more like a larger but was surprised to find it tasted like a beer.

Cask at the Ealing beer fest. Aroma is pale and strange burnt malt character, grassy honey., Taste has far more fruity yeastyness, but the burnt malt is a bit strange in every way.

Cask gravity at Kent BF 08. Bit of haze gold. Thickish very lasting off white head. Odd aroma, bit cheesy. Buttery aroma. Terrible aroma in fact. Cheesy in mouth. OK on finish. But it’s got eggy nastiness too. Poor pint this.

Cask at GBBF 2007, CBoB firkin. A golden beer with thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of caramel and a good flowery hoppy note.
