Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Apr 12, 2009 22oz bottle 4/12/09 (Woodmans-Green Bay)-Pours a clear golden body with a small white covering for a head. If this is retired then I just purchased a really old bottle. Aroma of hops, grass, and grains. Taste is of hte same with some malt and a little bit of skunk coming in. This light bodied brew is not bad but a little too sweet. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Mar 2, 2009 Dark gold body with a large white head. Plenty of small, fast moving bubbles in the lager glass. Funnel cake and light notes of Saaz in the nose. This drinks fairly easy with some biscuit and then sharp celery coming through in the finish. There is also a little bit of black pepper, but it’s only after you swallow. As I drank more, the vegetable sharpness became more like an incessant spice in a food. Decent, but could have used some more balance with a little bigger body for the hops. JPDIPSO (4863), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 11, 2008 Straw color with a moderate off-white head. Aromas of grass, grain, dry erase markers, light raisins and other light fruit. Euro lager maybe, Euro Pils not; at least not from the scent. Lightly floral dough flavors. Lightly grainy and a bit dry. Really not much of a pilsener. A lager with pilsener tendencies, but not enough malt or hops definition to make a solid brew. Too sweet , not that crisp and clean. Not quite there in many a ways. hayduke (1619), Eureka, California, USA Oct 30, 2007 From a 22 oz bottle, this poured a cloudy yellow with a very small head. Mouhtfeel somewhat light. Not much nose, and what there was consisted of malts and grassy hops. Flavor was light malts with slight bitterness. Somewhat bitter finish. Somewhat ordinary pils. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA Oct 21, 2007 bomber from Saarlander, thanks. poured a honey gold with a very short lasting head. aroma was grainy malt. flavor more of the same grainy malt with some grassiness and mild hop spice. an easy drinking session beer. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Oct 4, 2007 Hazy golden, moderate head, solid lacing and retention. Aroma is lightly grassy, some buttery goodness, grain, a touch of alcohol. Medium bodied, somewhat sweet finish with moderate bitterness. However, it felt off to me as it doesn’t have the finesse of the better examples out there. I would have preferred a little more hop flavor and less malty sweetness. badlizard (2324), Berkeley, California, USA Oct 3, 2007 650 ml bottle from Bevmo. Yellow with a fizzy white head. Bready aroma. Grainy bready taste with a hint of citrus and more hops evident than I expected. grant (792), Long Beach, CA/Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 26, 2007 Slightly hazy golden, light head formation. Taut, biscuity malt with a fairly sharp evergreen hoppiness - refreshing pils aroma. Dry, biscuity maltiness, doughy. Crystal clear, fairly strong bitterness rings through. Dry, ultraclean finish, leaving you with bits of lightly toasted biscuit sloshing around your mouth, long-lingering finish. I can tell they hit exactly what they were going for here.
