| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 14, 2006 Bomber courtesy after4ever. Pours a clear coppery amber with a fluffy beige head. The aroma is full of floral, grassy and piney hops. The body is medium/full, almost sticky. The taste starts fruit, citrus and toffee sweet but almost immediately switches gears and heads for the resinous pine-bitter finish. Marc (477), Yokosuka, Japan
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 11, 2006 Polished copper body with a semi-firm tan head leaving a lot of sticky lacing down the sides of the glass. Big caramel and grapefruit, herbs, and medium arm alcohol in the nose. Hops are very up front and are intensely herbal rather then the pineyness I was expecting. Balanced by some caramel this IPA is a bit lopsided in a nice way with this grassy, herbal bitterness asking you to take another sip. Finishes with more herbs and caramel as it warms with a good portion of bitterness that just sits on the back of the tounge. Very peculiar and unexpected from a CA IPA. footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

This is just a fantastic IPA. I am not a great judge of beer but this what I want a IPA to be. A hint of bitterness on the tongue but the flavor of this was truly to be enjoyed. ratman197 (3244), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 21, 2006 Bomber poured a clear amber with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of carmel, orange, earthiness and some light pine notes. Palate was medium bodied. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, orange peel, some pine and a light hint of soap with a crisp lingering bitter finish. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 16, 2006 A lovely beer, from beginning to end. Translucent and shiny brass in color with a beautiful, pillowy white head that settles down to an icy layer and produces adoring lace. Sugary sweet aroma infuses with sun laid orange rinds and spice traits (pepper and paprika), which help to further its remarkable, charming allure. Additional aromatic adrenaline comes from touches of lemon juice on papaya shavings and mandarin cream cheese danishes. Flavor presents a unique profile that immediately quenches thirst. Buttery baguette crust manifests in a fashion of halving mandarins and sliding their runny juices down the hard crackled crust. Husky rind properties are laid out on a sandy villa floor just above sea level. Aged oranges and spooned, raw papaya return us to the citric properties. Building background bitterness is well met with a highly palatable stream. It’s balanced right where we want it, with crustaceous, orangey butterscotch lozenges partnering perfectly with an ample supply of aged hops. Afterlife comes about just as uniquely as when it came into the world, ensuing its encore by presenting papyrus with papaya grease crisply breaking the brittle sheet, and herbal orange butter patching the piece back together. Big thanks to tpkenned for the bomber! ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 2, 2006 Sweet, hoppy aroma that I can’t imagine being any better. Brownish amber body with an off-white head. Not very hazy; almost clear. Creamy lace sticks to glass. Hoppy and dry but with good balance. Excellent. Strong hop profile. Really a pleasant find. Could have been served colder, but I would definitely drink this again. RAYBOY01 (1852), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2006 Pine resin and grapefruit nose. Clear amber-golden pour with a lingering rocky white head. Flavors are well balanced between the PNW hopping: Grapefruit, pine, citrus, and herbal hoppiness vs. the substantial toffee-like caramel sweetness. I also noted a hint of soapiness that intruded, but found it fleeting. Sessionable brew. Cornfield (4961), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Clear amber and thick, this sports a fluffy off-white head that lingers and laces. It’s got a nice floral and citrius aroma neatly blended with a buttery caramel. Also a hint of dish soap that, alas, finds its way into the flavor as well. Thick mouthfeel. The flavor is built on a solid, sweet caramel malt backbone, supporting some serious hop bitterness. And dish soap. Nice prolonged bitterness in the finish. Good. And clean.
