Poured a cloudy golden color, with nice white head and moderate lacing. Nose was yeasty and full of fruits and spices. Mouthfeel moderate, and flavor is of fruits. Dry finish. Very decent brew. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Lightly hazed light golden color. Moderate white head. Light sweet pale malt, some granny smith apples along with apple skins, light yeast and touch of old, dry spice. Light malt and mild sour apple flavors. Light dry yeast. Seems like a strong lager with a splash of cidre. A little too sweet. rayg1 (445), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2007 This beer pours a murky golden yellow with a light head, maybe half a finger thick. Aroma is interesting, pretty sweet and spicy with an obvious Belgian yeast smell to it. Not really a whole lot of funk in this aroma, smells more like a triple than a saison, where’s the farmhouse smell?!? Anyway moving on to the taste of things. Okay the flavor of this beer is actually pretty decent, light sweet hay and straw mixed with some spices. A slight banana flavor but only just slightly. Finally, the typical farmhouse horseblanket flavor reveals itself but even still could almost go unnoticed. Not bad but there are better saisons out there, good effort though. unclemattie (2438), Georgia, USA
