Aroma of caramel and some aroma hops. Medium body, lightly sweet caramel and then a rather fresh and fruity aroma hoppiness leaving a solid bitterness. The mouthfeel is soft and pleasant. A very classical and clean APA. 240307 rmussman (905), California, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2006 Well, so far out of the 6 Farmhouse (Coast Range) beers I’ve had only 1 sucked. Good ratio. So I had my fingers crossed this wouldn’t be horrible and (thankfully) it wasn’t. A nice malty, earthy aroma balanced with a hop attack to say was decent. Slightly dark amber in color, medium sized head. Flavors are hoppy, malty, slightly chewy but very nice and extremely drinkable. Farmhouse does another one up right. It’s not extraordinary but solid. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Bomber. Pours a clear golden/orange color. Slightly bitter hoppy aroma, with some traces of maltiness thrown in for good measure. Very dry bitter flavor. Alot of grapefruit qualities. Very bitter beer with a bitter finish. Dry hoppiness rules the day here. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2006 (22 oz bottle: $2.99 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) I’ve been trying to get this beer into my BevMo for a few months with no success, but I guess my constant badgering finally paid off because a case unexpectedly showed up on a recent pallet. Pouring this "new world ale" into my "old world" English pint glass, it’s golden-amber in color and ever so slightly hazy in appearance. It produces over half an inch of foamy, off-white head that recedes slowly while leaving a dense, intricately designed lace fabric behind. The nose is pleasantly hoppy, but not really citrusy, and the grainy and musty aromas balance and complement the hops nicely. Hops is front and center right from the first sip. I wouldn’t necessarily call this a citrusy hops profile, but rather, I’m getting more of a mix of classic hops flavors up front with bitter grapefruit rind in the finish. The lightly sweet malt base doesn’t present any distinguishing characteristics; the only word that comes to mind is "grainy", but it’s not bready or cornlike approach. It just sets a pleasant malt base that stays in the background to allow the drinker to focus attention on the hops. The standard Coast Range "house" flavors of chalk and must make their welcomed customary appearance as well. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a crisp, long-lasting, bitter finish. And now that I’ve downed the first pint glass of beer from this bomber, a large percentage of this empty glass is coated with bubbly lace. So, yet another solid beer from Coast Range. I must admit, I wasn’t all that impressed with some of Coast Range’s initial offerings, but over the past few years, just about every release has been solid. Now I look forward with eager anticipation to whatever these guys produce.
