Bottle... Lightly hazy amber ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Fruity, malty aroma with notes of butterscotch, caramel and dried apricot. The flavor mirrors the nose with additional earthy and vineous characteristics. Full-bodied and silky with mild carbonation. Finishes sweet, astringent and woodsy. Definitely my kind of beer! Bottle: Ruby tinted amber, minor haze, large foamy off-white head, fairly nice lacing, light carbonation.   Certainly looks good.   However, the nose is a bit different.   Aroma reminds me of a mash tun crossed with overcooked vegetables.   Not at all the sweet, biscuity, and peaty aroma you would expect.   Very minor charred wood tho, thankfully.   Overcooked vegetables and DME take the forefront.   Very slight sweetness in the back, minor peat aspect.   Lingering overcooked vegetables through to the finish.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Light butterscotch after the finish.   Not one of the better Scotch Ales I have had.   Wondering what to do with my 2nd bottle of this.   Finding it somewhat hard to finish.   Old bottle maybe?   Perhaps I got two in the event one was bad?   Look for a potential re-rate of this in the future.   Thanks Stephen for the trade!

Poured a clear golden orange with minmal off-white head. Malty sweet with toffee as the dominant aroma. Malty flavors of caramel and light fruit. Bitter finish.

Bottle, poured light brown and clear. Light caramel aroma, alcohol was present. Light swet caramel flavors, some lighter fruity esters too. Decent, but nothing grabbed me from this beer.

Thanks to Darkelf for this.Looks like ginger ale mixed with rootbeer.lots of bubbles.Has some apricots and sweet maltiness to it.Flavor is a little bit of a let down as it seemed flat.Little toffee maybe.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] An amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet alcohol combined with notes of berries - especially cowberries, as well as brewmash and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and caramel, mixing in to a barnyard flavor with a slight alcoholic burn, but barnyard in the good way.

Bottled. Dark copper colour, small beige head. Sweet caramellish malty aroma. Sweet alcoholic malty and caramellish flavour. Also some wooden hints.

Amber red color, small tanned head. Woody, leafy aroma. Liquerish - medium bodied, malty, oaky - grassy flavor. Long dry oaky aftertaste. Oaked version of scotch ale.
