Beautiful red color with a large frothy off-white head. Nice sweet malt, caramel, and grape aroma with a hint of earthiness. Nice roasy malt, grape, mushroom and citrus hops flavors. Crisp, but fairly thick feel.

Beautiful glowing ruby color with a large, frothy off-white head. The aroma was filled with caramel, slight smoke, peat, and a gentle sourness (not bad.) The flavor was much of the same...sweet, with a definite roasty/smokey/nutty character. The feel was creamy, slightly crisp, coating, kinda thick...wet finish. Nice.

12 oz. glass bottle- color of dark amber , with a thin tan head - nose of smoky chocolate , mocha , red fruit, and toffee – taste of bright red fruit, caramel, coffee, and oak/vanilla - body is medium , and semi sweet with low carbonation – aftertaste of coffee , vanilla , and chocolate

A sweet malt nose with a touch of peat. The taste is spicy, grainy and effervescent for the style with a rounded and blunted bitter finish.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] An amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet alcohol combined with notes of berries - especially cowberries, as well as brewmash and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and caramel, mixing in to a barnyard flavor with a slight alcoholic burn, but barnyard in the good way.

Re-rate. I wonder if Coast Range has a new brewer the beer seem MUCH better than they used to be. Dark orange gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is malt, peat and smoke. A medium bodied scotch ale. Malts are fruity and sweet, touch of smoke and peat. Slightly bitter hops. Nice balance. Nice smoky flavors, they kind of hang around at the edges of the taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Medium brown color, large head. Medium malts and hops. Full flavored. Nice full malt flavor, some smokiness to the malts. Nice balance. Full round mouthfeel. Finish is smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours gorgeous red/brown with thin head. Aroma is toasty and nutty. Flavor is all kinds of malt: roasted, toasted burnt, you name it. A bit of a sweet but mild alcohol kick; exactly what I wanted to see in an ale like this. Well done. Finish is dry and nutty.

Bottle... Lightly hazy amber ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Fruity, malty aroma with notes of butterscotch, caramel and dried apricot. The flavor mirrors the nose with additional earthy and vineous characteristics. Full-bodied and silky with mild carbonation. Finishes sweet, astringent and woodsy. Definitely my kind of beer! Thanks go out to DarkElf for the bottle!
