Commercial Description:
This beer is an unfiltered dark wheat brew. The combination of specialty malt adds to its flavor and color. Munich malt is a light roasted barley that adds flavor as well as body. Chocolate malt is malt that is roasted in a kiln until it is dark and gives off chocolate characteristics.

Dark brown color with a medium head. Wheat and caramel malt aroma. Pretty strong wheat taste. Slightly sour banana. Not a bad rendition of a dunkelweizen.

12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown with little highlights. There is less than average beige head that lacks retention but has sufficient lacing. The aroma is some banana and clove with a little Belgian nod. Flavor is nice, the banana and clove flavors are not too over the top and overpowering. They balance nicely with the almost chocolate flavor from the dark malts. Not a bad dunkleweizen at all. Worth a shot.

Pours dark brown with a nice light brown head. Aroma of caramel malts and german yeast of bubblegum and bread. Taste is the same with some dark fruits and wheat. The yeast really comes through. .

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN. Pours a clear dark copper amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has some nice retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of light roasted dark malt, a touch of dark chocolate, a little allspice and some flowery hops. Taste is slightly metallic, medium bodied, well carbonated with flavors of dark chocolate, pumpernickel bread, flowery hops and a touch of pipe tobacco. Finish is semi-sweet, a nice mild malty aftertaste with a hint of banana after the finish. One of the better new craft beers from Cold Spring.

Copper with a thin off-white slowly fading head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, spice, clove, fruit and barley. Taste of banana, clove, sweet malt, bubblegum with a spicy yeast finish that’s semi astringent.

Aroma is clove and belgium yeast. Appearance is dark brown but transparent. Flavor is a very approachable dukelweizen. A lot of malt but a slight bitter balance. Finish is round and slightly bitter.

Bottle from Keil’s. Hazy dark brownish in color . Aroma is somewhat spiced and grainy. A hint of cloves and yeast. Some yeastiness along with some roasted malts. Some cloves. Decent for the style.

Medium brown colored body with some light garnet at the edges. Only hints of a tiny light khaki head. The aroma has some notes of banana mixed with caramel. There was also some hint of cherry cough syrup. The taste has some banana mixed with sweet cherries. There is also a little bit of caramel. This was surprsingly decent and drinkable.
