Commercial Description:
Originating with small craft brewers, brown ales became popular in England. They created this amber colored ale for its nutty toffee and caramel notes and a soft, smooth finish. This new brew of choice became known as Brown Ale. These ales were traditionally served draught style in neighborhood pubs with a generous froth spilling over the top of the pint glass. You'll discover that authentic Pub Pint taste and character thanks to our Colonial Pub Pint System. Millions of tiny bubbles release when you jopen a pint to give your beer a creamy head and smooth pub finish ... the way Pub Pints havae been enjoyed for generations. I didn’t think was all that bad. It has a generally satisfying smoothness, and the flavor has enough malt to produce a nutty quality that isn’t sophisticated but is a whole helluva lot better than a plain-jane American lager. BUT, I did have a really strong sour edge to the flavor and it didn’t really diminish with time, a very lactic sour underbelly on those malts. Curious. Still, it could be a lot worse in the world of bargain quasi-micros.

Brown Color with White Ring. Sweet Caramel Malt Aroma. Sweet Toasted Caramel Malt Flavor. Little Too Sweet on the Aftertaste, but a Nice Simple ’Pub’ Ale That Goes Down Without any Offensive Thoughts.

Picked up a 16-oz can from the Party Supply in Maplewood, MN. Pours a hazy burnt caramel amber brew with a thick bubbly ivory head. Nice dissolving and retention. Aroma has some toffee, corn malt, a hint of brown sugar and ripe beets. Taste is a bit acidic, metalic on the mouth roof, some sweet ripe citrus and sweet bitter. Finish is a little acidic. The flavor is light in character and the palate is somewhat odd.

pours a clear brown/orange. weird vegital nose. Oh, this sucks, and although Busch light has no flavor, I would rather taste nothing than this.

Tried this at the Minneapolis food and wine expo. Brown color and some decent off white head. Unpleasant chemical taste.

Nicley packaged, and they mask it well that is made by Glueks, the king o swill. Looks decent, but tastes like swill, just nothing to it, way to watery, ack. Ill probably drink the rest, as you can put them back, just certainly isnt "rich and creamy" like the label implies. pretty good for Gluek label though, beats the hell outta honey bock!

Brown, so at least they got that part right. Hightly carbonated and some sweetmess; however, unpleasant chemical flavors as well. Their hefeweizen was almost ok, but this is pretty bad.
