ebrowner88 (113), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Feb 24, 2008 Cloudy yellow/gold in glass. Smells like sparkling cider. Nice head at pour but dissapears very quickly living a thin ring of medium sized bubbles around the rim of the glass. You get a sweet/sour heffe taste at first sip that dissapears faster then the head. Very fine carbonation, almost chapagne like. Not a thriller but the best tasting drink i had from Glueks. (that ain’t saying much!!) And one more thing. "draught style" WTF!
heemer77 (3667), Savannah, Missouri, USA Mar 12, 2008 Hazy, medium gold body. I was actually surprised to see a little bit of yeast pour out of the can. The aroma is Irish Spring soap with light lemon notes. There is also a little bit of cinnamon. The taste is lemon drops with some nasty cough syrup in the finish. This is medicinal and yet strangely drinkable. Not too bad considering the brewer and the method of serving. Ughsmash (3004), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jan 13, 2008 Canned. Poured clear (or damn near) bright golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up odd metallic and vegetal notes upfront, and it really didn’t get better.. plenty of pale malt, a little honey, and some banana sweetness come through.. sour overall and not good. The flavor was just as bad.. honey and other adjunctey sweetness at the core with tacky artificial bananas and a little cough syrup around the edges.. citrus fruits showed up, but didn’t do much for me. Light-bodied with an ugly feel throughout the palate.. sourness was out of place and the finish was dry and grainy. Bad stuff. shrubber85 (2511), Wallhalben, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany Dec 27, 2007 Can. Sour orange juice and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-yellow color with small head. Stale wheat malt flavor with slight hint of orange. Lacks the fruity/spicy esters of most Hefes. BDR (1866), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Nov 22, 2007 Clear yellow body with white head. Corn on the nose and body. Metallic finish. No banana, clove or anything else I’d look for in a Hefe.
