The can says Colonial Brewery Co., Cold Spring, MN, so it likely is Gluek. There seems to be no widget to release those bubbles, and the creamy head wasn’t much or long lasting. The aroma isn’t much, perhaps a bit corny. The color is a nice amber. The taste starts extremely metallic, and although there is a hint of hop, metallic dominates the finish. Not much malt. As time passes, it is arguably tolerable. At 4 pint cans for $6.99, and no widget, this is a disappointment. Gluek brews often rate poorly, apparently because they are a bit light on ingredients. This one joins the club. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Dark gold body with a slightly off white head. The aroma is like unrisen bread dough a little bit of dandelions. The mouthfeel is lightly carbonated. the taste is slightly burnt sweet apple pancakes with some rotting grapefruit. The finish is a little bit citrus, but also earthy sweat. This is not too bad, but I would definitely not try again. Skyview (4076), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2007 Picked up 16-oz can from Party Supply in Maplewood, MN. Pours a light caramel amber brew with an lumpy slow dissolving white head. Aroma of P&G Ivory soap, some corn malt, and something representing a wet pussy cat (sigh!) It is missing the floral hoppiness I am used to in Pale Ales. Taste is full body, thick, a little sugary, and a smooth palate. Finish has a little bitterness but very enjoyable. Actually, unlike the Colonial Pub Pints Heffeweizen, the Pale Ale is not one bit offensive. It’s a pretty good sweet British Bitters and a Pale Ale. Rune (2848), Tromsø, Norway

Slightly hazy, golden brown body under a frothy, white head that slowly fades away. Firm malty aroma. Pale malt flavoured water with a hoppy note. Finish off with a hints of sourish vegetables. Missing tail. Smooth mouthfeel. Not a great drink, but my best n/a so far (15.01.2008). Nuffield (2724), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 7, 2007 I was not nearly so negative on this as I was their Hefe. It poured pretty standard: auburn with a vivacious head. It was caramelly and a little floral but without much hop bite--and since I don’t care for an over the top pale ale, that was fine with me. It was more than a Bitter, less than a Sierra Nevada or anything of the sort. That would disappoint many but I was cooking and finding this a very satisfactory accompaniment to the task. Moderately smooth, standard thickness. Most importantly, I didn’t get any sensation of metal, so that helps. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

Light Mouthfeel. Carbonated. Sweet Malt, Caramel and Sweet Cereal Coming Out the Most Dominantly. Dry Malty Aftertaste with Some Light Hops. A Decent Session Ale. Malty aroma with a splash of hoppiness. A little bit of yeast and root beer as well. Somewhat bready malty flavors up front. Hop character seems a little sour. Tastes more like beer than most Glueks.
