Commercial Description:
Things move slowly on this island – which suits our lager down to the ground. The rich and full flavour of this thirst quenching drink is down to its unusually long fermentation. Whether it’s the salt in the sea air that blows through the brewery, or the quality of the water – we’re not sure – but we think you will agree there is something special about this lager.

Bottled @ Peckham’s Beer Festival. Pale yellow colour, small white head. Aroma has typical lager malts, some fruits. Flavour is slightly malty as well.

[ Trade with cgarvieuk ]. Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, sour malt. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet with a average to short duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [150908]

Courtesy of Fonefan. It’s a slightly hazy, golden beer with a creamy head. The aroma has a light sweetness and notes of fruit. The same goes for the flavour, where I also find caramel and malt. It’s smooth and pleasant, and it’s quite charming even if it’s rather thin-bodied.

Bottled@Fonefan. Golden colour, not much head. Aroma is hops, diacetyl and some mild earthyness. Flavour is quite much the same with some mild sweet hayish notes. Wellbalanced, but not very exciting.

I liked the look of this, the thick glass of the bottle and the label with the open beach, "beauty in a bottle" it says in the corner, it was the last bottle on the shelf which says to me "this has nearly sold out, it MUST be good" Well that’ll teach me, this is shit! It would have been a crackin’ colour if it wasn’t for the hazy proteins making it almost opaque. the head is a few islands of white bubbles floating aimlessly around the middle of the glass. the nose is unpleasant, sour even. The palate is medium which I’m guessing would be typical, however there is an astringent edge which is the final straw for me...( pours the remaining 3/4 pint down the sink!) Ok! this could’ve been a dodgy bottle, maybe thats why it was the only one left! I may try it again, I’ll see how I feel, this was bought in a wine shop in North Berwick, cant remember the exact price but it wasn’t kicking the arse off £3.

Bottled at RBESG 2007. A golden beer with just a bit of sediment floating around under a lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of straw, and so is the flavor, though also with a note of citrus.

Clear light golden, tiny, diminishing white head. The peppery yeast character initially surprises positively, but clearly it is soured, herbal and sulfury, just like their 80 /-. Pretty ruined in mouth, bready and watery and in fact not unlike dish water. Poor.
