Unsightly clear yellowish color with a thin and fizzy white head with little retention. Minimal lacing. Aroma of corn, hay, and grain. Light body with a vegetal character. More corn and other farm-related flavors. The finish is an adjunct-ridden mess of corn and maybe some malt and/or hops. The only thing about Colt 45 I can see working every time is reminding people to appreciate the good beers they can buy instead of this stuff. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

Has a nice golden color and high alcohol. Has good head retention, high carbonation. I just can’t really stomach this though, I prefer higher gravity beers to be a tad sweeter.
It was somewhat famous back in the day among celebs mainly due to lack of choice for high alcohol beer I guess. fredjaz (108), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Tip this one to your homies cause it aint worth putting in your mouth. I have no street cred. bjl8691 (60), racine, Wisconsin, USA

| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Nov 13, 2007 I sampled this "beer" for 2 reasons. One, I saw so many craft beer malt liquors like Dogfish Head, that I decided I should try this first, and two, I felt it would be a good idea to recalibtae the senses and remember what a bad beer is. This beer blows. This was almost a DP (drain pour), which for me is the ultimate insult, as it is sinful to waste beer. The aroma was like a typical pale lager, corn and some malt, with a slight fecal like skunkiness. The color was standard for a pale lager as well. Some alcohol on the nose. The "flavor" was completely bland, and again similar to a bad pale lager. Nothing at all on the palate, which in the case of this beer is actually merciful. Again, enjoy this beverage every so often only to remind oyurself of what a bad beer is, when criticizing other beers.
