(bottle - 22 oz) Clear yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is corn and grass. Flavor is much the same. Corn and dry grass at the beginning with a smooth and dry finish. Warm and fizzy.

I always preferred to shotgun a nice tall rather than endure the entire 40 ounces.

Had a 40. It was alright for about 5oz and miserable for 35oz, but I did it for Billy Dee Williams.

I guess there is a low class drinker in me somewhere, looking to get out into a public park with a brown-bagged bottle of malt liquor. Say what you like, but I actually think this stuff is a decent brew. It is no worse than most macros anyway. This has sentimental value for me because it is the first beer I ever got drunk off, back behind some neighborhood basketball courts, long before I was of legal age. It is amazing that this stuff has endured for all this time. It was, and maybe in some circles still is, the go-to brew for cheap, quick, alcohol ingestion. I never was crazy about the taste when I was a kid, but it seems a little better now. Gold pour, a little darker than expected. Fairly typical budget beer aroma, not the worst. Middling malt liquor/pale lager flavor. It does not have the nasty corn sweetness that it once did. This is actually a surprisingly solid cheapo brew, and I would get it again.

40oz: Edward 40 Hands! I think of Billy Dee every time I see this beer! This is early adolescent drinking for me...

Forty. No paper bag. Pours a very pale yellow with a thin creamy head. Decent head retention and fair lacing. Harsh grainy aroma with notes of sawdust and dirt. Taste is dirty water. Faint sweet malts and cereal grains. Nasty crap. Next!

Lacks hops, for sure. But otherwise tastes like a normal light lager. Has a decent malt character though, and some interesting flavors if you drink it unbiased. Not great, but I don’t think this is a bad malt liquor.
