Tmoney99 (4655), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 17, 2009 Draft at MRAF 2009.
Poured cloudy yellow-amber color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Complex spicy citrus and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation and thin particles. Medium spicy fruit flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite as it warmed.
This is a refreshing good beer. Dogbrick (2813), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 10, 2009 Firkin version at Barley’s 7th Annual Mini RAF (05/02/09): This beer pours a hazy yellow-orange color with a thin and bubbly off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of peppery hops and yeast. Medium body with flavors of hops, peppery yeast and fruits/spices. The finish is on the hoppy side with a yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA May 4, 2009 Sampled at Barley’s 7th Annual Mini Real Ale Fest. Cloudy orange color with a medium white head. Hoppy aroma that is welcome, but way unexpected from this style. Hoppy flavor giving way to peppery yeast and a sweet malt finish. Definitely unconventional for the style, and my kind of tripel.
