This classic porter is based on a British ale brewery’s recipe dating to 1859. Smoky and fruity, this is the beer that powered the Industrial Revolution. Brewed with English East Kent Goldings hops for true British character. Only available on draft.

A good light roasty aroma. This is a simple porter, a bit roasty, not heavy. Isn’t sweet. A pretty unassuming but drinkable beer.

Draft at brewpub. Roasty sweet nose, dark brown/black body, smallish head. Very roasty, fairly sweet, assertive chocolate/coffee flavors.

On Draft. A subdued roasty and sweet aroma, with similar taste, but with a little bit more malty, caramel action. A medium mouthfeel, with no real hop finish, just enough to clean up the malt. Overall not a groundbreaking beer, but a great example of the traditional style.

Draft. Pours dark brown to black and can’t be seen through. Has a roasty aroma. Easy drinking with a clean finish.

This Columbus brew actually holds a head for awhile, tan & thick above a dark brown body. Mild bittersweet chocolate, prune & roasted malt... rather unassuming in the nose, but full and flavorful in the mouth. Mild carbonation on the palate washes away bitters leaving you with the tastes of medium-roast coffee, chocolate & dark fruit. Yummy.

Black in color with a small brown head. Almots no aroma. Close to no taste. A little light on the body. Not what i’d expect from a porter.

Had this on tap at O’Shaughnessy’s Irish Pub under the name O’Shaughnessy’s Dam Good Porter! The flavor of this was pretty mild, I thought, for a porter. Definitely tasted the chocolate and the coffee. This was rather drinkable, for sure, just nothing outstanding.
