Draft 4 oz sample at the brewpub, 10/23/06: Pitch black with the barest of smoky coffee aromas. Not much to this one flavor-wise, pretty shallow. Just a kiss of sour-smoke, burnt toast. Least favorite here.

Had this on tap at little brothers. Poured very black with a thin head. Aroma was very choclatey and roasty. The flavor was of bitter choclate and some sweet maltiness. Overall pretty good but im not that big of a porter fan.

I had this at O’Shaughnessy’s Public House under the name O’Shaughnessy’s Dam Good Porter. Pours black with a mocha head that fades pretty quick. Nice aroma of coffee, and sweet milk chocolate. Also lots of roasty notes. A real delight to the nose. Flavor is no disappointment either. This is a nice blend of chocolate sweetness and coffee bitters. Very robust and flavorful. Full mouthfeel with not too much carbonation. Very creamy and delicious.. This is a very nice porter and worthy of the name Dam Good Porter!

Draft at brewpub. Black color with an average creamy light brown head that diminished slowly and produced good lacing. Moderate sweet toasted malt aroma. Medium body. Medium sweet toasted malt and fruit flavor with an average finish.

Pours dark with almost no head. Taste is sweet with hints of coffee. Mild hop flavor. A slightly above average porter.

Light, light porter aroma with some fruit. Dark and transparent with virtually no head. A very mellow beer with some earthy/veggie (potato) notes. Indistinct, but balanced and easily drinkable for the porter novice. Lightish body, but smooth.

A very dark porter. Aroma is mild with some coffee, roast and a light hop aroma. Good body and carbonation. Flavor is roasted toffee with a mild bitterness. Some hoppy floral character, but minimal. Great flavors, but did not really stand out.
