Great Scottish ales are prized world-wide. Our version pours a dark, ruby red with a rich malty character that you won’t forget.

Draft at the brewpub. Filtered brown amber-orange color. Malty, but not aggressively thick. Really straightforward. Sweet, with a a spicy hop balance. Comes off almost Lager-like to me. OK.

12 oz bottle. Poured deep amber brown with a frothy off white head. Smells nicely malty, slightly roasty, and vanilla. Tasted like burnt grains, bread, sweet smoke, and moderately hopped. Nice sweet malt aftertaste. Very nice.

Poured a hazed amber color with an off-white head. Grainy cereal malt and hops aroma. Tart malt and cereal flavor.

(bottle - 12 oz) The second from my trade with jb. Clear ruby pour with a creamy looking off-white head. Aroma is rather earthy with good hints of toasted malts, nuts, smoke, peat, and some cocoa. Very smoky at the beginning of the flavor that gives way to an interesting tartness in the middle that blends with a nutty flavor and ends with a zesty and smoky fruit and nut finish. Lots of malts throughout. Really nice.

Pours a dark amber. Smells lightly hoppy with malts. A good session beer with a decent amount of flavor.

Very transparent, medium brown, with a thin bone head. Mellow and sweet, moderately fruity aroma with some vanilla and coffee. Roasty, medium sweet. Very, very drinkable, but not the most complex or robust you’ve ever had. Slightly heavy body. Hoppy on the edge of the tongue. Roasty finish.

On tap at the Columbus Microbrew Festival. Not a great beer, but not as bad as others have rated it. I would say that this is a nice change of pace.
