| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 13, 2008 This one has a light malty aroma with something in it that isn’t good. The flavor is pretty malty. Also comes off as relatively light. Not for me. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Jul 29, 2008 Bottle. I can’t imagine the brewer creating this beer, tasting it, and proclaiming, "this one is ready." Something must have happened along the way to this bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown. The aroma wasn’t good, but wasn’t awful either with some malt and stale cigarettes. The flavor, however, was vile. Holy crap! Stale cigarettes left out in the rain in an ashtray and then left to mildew. Makes me think I need to go back re-visit some of my other bottom-dweller ratings to put this one in proper perspective. Hideous. fredandboboflo (1416), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 0.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Bottle. Rotten prunes and bitter tobacco. Quite gross. goldtwins seemed reasonably confident this was in a rateable condition, but perhaps less so? LilBeerDoctor (1504), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 0.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Bottle shared by goldtwins. This is possible one of the worst beers I have ever tasted. Pours a dark amber with a thick tan head. Aroma of cigarette smoke. Flavor is sharp and biting and tastes like cigarette-liquid. Just really really nasty stuff. How this beer gets decent ratings, I have no idea. Absolutely foul beer. ChainGangGuy (2568), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 12, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, dark mahogany body with a small, wispy, white head.
Smell: Aroma of toasted nuts and toasted grains with a note of non-toasted fruits underneath.
Taste: Middling maltiness tasting of caramel and nuts with a mild sweetness. Light smoke component. Not really much hoppiness in this thing. Altogether nutty finish. It’s all very simple, folks.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Decent enough for a Scottish Ale, I suppose, though I certainly wouldn’t race back to try another. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Jun 27, 2008 The body is dark copper brown and red. The aroma is toasted nuts and smoked malt. There is also a little bit of caramel. This is a sour nasty brew, not sure if this is the way it’s supposed to taste. The taste has some smoked malt and nuts behind that sourness. I wanted to say thanks to iowaherkeye for sharing, but maybe I should insult him instead?
