Pours a transparent copper ruby with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet toasted caramel malt with some doughy yeast character. Body starts fairly full and caramely sweet with some biscuity notes and bittering hops before a drier finish. A decent Scottish ale.

Pours a beautiful rust color that is extremely clear – not much head with average lacing and below average carbonation. The dominate smell is rich malts. First taste is light, sweet, with a not much body at all. It is followed by a light bitterness.

Growler... Cloudy amber ale with an orange hue and a small, creamy, white head. Toffee notes fill my nose at first, then toasted nuts and milk chocolate. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Well-balanced flavor. Lengthy, sweet, malty finish. Very drinkable! A big THANK YOU to DragonStout for sharing this Scottish ale with me!

Poured from bottle. Very nice clear dark ruby color. Sweet smell of brown sugar and malts. Flavor was roasted nuts, caramel, and actually a bit less sweet then I was expecting and a bit bitter on the end.

Bottle thanks to ogglethorp. Pours a clear dark brown with small brown head. Nice toasted malty aroma. Flavor is somewhat roasted up front of coffee with a nice hinst of caramel. Medium body with just a touch of smoke. Very nice balance of flavors.

Bottle. Pours light ruby with a tiny off-white head that very quickly recedes. Aroma is malty, toffee, nutty, maybe a very slight coffee component and a bit of subdued roast. Nice balanced aroma, not too sweet. Smooth, smoky flavor with lot of malts and caramel flavor. A noticeable grape flavor - odd. After tasting the grape flavor it kind of overtakes everything and that’s all I can think of, it even comes through in the smell now. Medium bodied. This has good flavor though it is nice and drinkable. Pretty good example of the style in my opinion.
