Commercial Description:
Our IPA pours a slightly hazy, pale orange with a balanced malt flavor and finishes with a wonderful flavor and aroma only American hops can provide. This beer is served unfiltered to retain all the bouquet from the hops.

In short: A bitter fruit-salad. Tasty IPA. Good stuff.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Partly cloudy dark orange body with a small white head
In long: Very aromatic and very tasty. Garden flower and strawberries on the nose. Taste is like a freshly squeezed orange over a fruit salad with some strawberries thrown in for good measure. Short but sharp and strong bitterness. As my pint warmed some pine-cone juice was coming out. Malt profile could have used some oomph! but overall this is a superior and different IPA and in the USA standing out from crowd is pretty hard when you’re an IPA or a fat-ass.

On tap @ Bodega: Pours a clear copper with a white head. Aroma, citrus and fruity notes, very fresh hops, pale malts. Flavor, pale malts and caramel up front, bright fruity and citrus notes, floral almost potpourri like flavor on the finish.

Had one of these at the Brewpub to compliment my 5 cheese pizza, and one of them there chicken and anduille sausage kay sa dillas. Thanks to Robert and Rick for joining me for an undbridled night of debauchery. Nose of pine & grapefruit, resin and flowers. Pours a clear copper with melon highlights. The white head is thin and characteristic of brew from the tap leaving a thin sheet of lace. The brew is bitter and acidic. The character is heavily citric with decent depth and sourness accenting the bitterness at the finish. The medium body is dry and lively.

7/21/2007: Columbus IPA is a cloudy, amber-orange color with a frothy off-white/beige head. The sweet maltiness is overshadowed by a dull bitterness that has a light grapefruit flavor to it. The body is medium-light and thin. This beer is overly bitter without very much flavor to balance out the dull bitterness.

Draught at Casa Nueva Cantina in Athens, Ohio during the Ohio Brew Week 2007. Rating #15 for this beer...

Mid-copper with a slow-forming head, slow carbonation and thick legs. Doesn’t look "unfiltered" as the menu suggests. Sharp nose with lemon zest, orange rind, pine needles, peppers and florals. Wow... nice! Sharp flavor concentrates on the pine & pepper. A little thin in the mouth with a dry, bitter linger. Very subtle suggestion of sweetness, but not enough to divert your concentration from the hoppage. I’d say 65-70 IBU’s? Groovy.

Aroma was sweet and hoppy with whiffs of flowers and grass. Bright orange body. Large and fresh hop flavor with apricots, flowers, sweet malt - also slightly bitter. Sweet and slightly bitter finish. “It’s like nectar of the Gods”!
