Commercial Description:
Specially kilned Crystal malt and a generous portion of American cascade hops are used for a refreshing, spicy aroma, and a long, dry finish. Great with food, it’s big, bold, and bittersweet. Named best beer in Ohio and winner of a Bronze Medal in the World Beer Championships. Four Stars-Great Lakes Beer Guide.

Clear amber red with a thin whitish head and super tiny lacing. Smell is light and a little hoppy and not horrible - I would just like it a bit more vibrant or loud. Flavor is okay - has a presence of hops but it is though they are standing over in the corner alone and almost like they aren’t there. Palate is really really carbonated.

Bottle courtesy of prototypic. Thanks!
Mostly clear reddish amber pour with a short lived light beige head. Smell is somewhat chocolately and lightly hoppy. Interesting. Taste is kind of like cocoa-y fruity hops and balanced with a toffee, caramel and cocoa and lightly hoppy finish. Not what I expected at all. Not my favorite, but drinkable, and not bad though, either.

Dark amber color, not a very pale ale. Generous off-white head fades to a small but dense covering that leaves some lace behind. Sweet, rich grainy malty smells, caramalts, toffee scents dominate, some light grassy and citrusy (orange) hops. Tastes much as the smell led me to imagine. Sweet caramalts dominating the impression, but it is "dry" somewhat on the finish as the grassy and citrus hops pop in. Pretty smooth, moderately carbonated medium bodied. Fairly drinkable, nothing special.

Very standard American pale. Piney aroma, malty body along with some hops, but not a lot of hops.

12oz bottle-A light orangish amber body with a huge white head and an aroma of hops and citrus. Taste of the same with a dry finish. Not bad but not good. Another Columbus overly carbonated beer.

Very drinkable. Nice balanced yet intense cascade hops. Not anything to get excited about, but a good example of the style. I continue to come back to it
