Commercial Description:
A crisp unfiltered kellerbier. This traditional Bavarian style originated from the small artisanal breweries of Franconia, where kellerbier is still a favorite beverage in the local beer gardens.

On tap at Brew Week in Athens. Light om color, with no head. I’m expecting the typical fruity wheat beer. But, this is actually quite smooth. Some fruity notes, but not overbearing and not cloying.

In the bottle thanks to Andrew and Steph P. Hazy dark gold with a medium to large ivory head. Mild malty and grainy aroma with a delightfully sweet and yeasty flavor. Stronger level of hops than many kellerbiers, but it works with the larger malt sweetness. Pretty good.

7/13/2009: Columbus Summer Teeth reminds me of a lame English Bitter. It is hazy gold in color with a thin white head. The beer almost seems minty with some lite buttery maltiness along with a bite in the finish. Is is medium-light in body and very soft on the palate. Not horrible, but not that good. I had to pass on a having a pint and instead have a pint of Columbus IPA. Overall this is the most disappointing beer that I had during my time at OBW.

Sample (draught) at Buffalo Wild Wings in Athens, Ohio during Ohio Brew Week 2009. Rating #6 for this beer.

Draft at Barleys Afternoon with the Brewers. Poured hazy orange color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium tart hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium grainy sweet flavor with a medium bitterswwet finish of moderate duration. Above average beer.

On draught at Bodega. This brew pours a lightly hazy yellow-orange color with a medium thin and creamy light beige head that diminishes slowly. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of sweet malt and spiced hops. Light body with flavors of grassy hops and bready malt, along with underlying spices. The finish is fruity and hoppy with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Had this on tap at bodega. Poured a slightly cloudy golden ale color with a small head. Aroma was some light maltiness and a little bread to it. Flavor was actually pretty good for a lager. Very easy to drink but still had some malt flavor and a tinge of bitterness. i would drink this one again this summer.

Had on tap at Claddagh Irish Pub. This beer was tapped in late April at the Brewery. Not sure how no one has rated it yet! Poured a nice clear dark golden color. Aroma was grainy. Flavor was wet grass, bread, and a slight funk on the end.
