Commercial Description:
Rich and complex, Eric aged RIS in a Wild Turkey barrel for the full experience. Jet black, swirl it in your glass before sipping it. High alcohol and viscosity demand it.

Had on cask at bodega. I was not told that this was called turkey neck ba ris but just bourbon imperial stout. Poured black with a decent size head on it. Aroma was of chocolate , roastiness and some weird butterscotch notes. The flavors in this one were not the normal bourbon notes i get in imperial stouts. This just had a presence in it that I did not enjoy that much.

Draft sample at MRAF 2009. Poured a black color with an average creamy brown head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted, woody bourbon and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Good complex roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bourbon bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex brew.

Sampled at Barley’s 7th Annual Mini Real Ale Fest. Event program has ABV listed as 8-12%. Black pour with a thin light brown head. Malty and chocolatey aroma with vanilla and a definite bourbon presence. Vanilla and oak flavor up front followed by booze and chocolate and a bit of coffee in the finish. Pretty good, and on par with their regular RIS.
