PilsnerPeter (1415), Flushing, New York, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle: Cloudy light golden with a fizzy/fading white head. The aroma has a touch of wheat, with a soft herbal character, and tons of ginger. Fizzy body, bit bit too carbonated. Upfront there is a quick touch of wheat flavor/very subtle citrus (lemon-peel) note, which is followed by a prolonged ginger spiciness. What is detectable in the base beer is pretty nice, with a crisp wheat character, but the ginger flavor becomes overwhelming in my opinion. Other than that it’s a decent spice beer.
The_Beer_God (2838), Newport News, Virginia, USA Sep 4, 2008 Bottle. Hazy gold. Tall fizzy, fading white head. Nose is ginger, clove, coriander, yeast notes, citrus, and grains. Taste bring out more ginger, lemon, honey, clove, strong wheat, yeast and citrus fruit (mainly lemon but a touch of lime as well). Body is light but very fizzy and uber-carbonated. The finish is a touch more bitter with stronger yeast, grains, more lemon, clove, ginger, honey and coriander. Like a gingery witbier. ucusty (1077), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 4, 2008 pale straw-gold pour. Foamy white head and no lace. Cloves and lemon on the nose. Grass, citrus, and ginger. mdm46410 (560), Griffith, Indiana, USA Sep 1, 2008 Poured from a 22oz bomber and served in a shaker. This beer poured a lightly hazy pale yellow with a foamy off-white head. Not much lace. The aroma of the beer was made up of strong grassy notes, pepper, cloves, and light lemon. The flavor consisted of grass, light citrus, some cooling menthol, and spicy cloves. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and highly carbonated. An easy-drinking lager with a spicy/minty twist. Decent. Trev (503), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Aug 30, 2008 Bomber pours a pale slightly hazy straw colour with a large white bubbly head.
Aroma is ginger, clove, grassy hop. Flavour comes through with ginger, light malt, and some straw and minty-herbal hop.
Not bad. bdigi66 (443), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 30, 2008 Bottle: Pale yellow pour with a pillow-like white head. Light citrus, orange zest, wheat malts, banana and a very strong spice tone that I can’t make out. Crisp body with lively carbonation...flavors consist of belgian yeast, bubblegum and an almost mint-like herbally backdrop. Very strange brew but good at the same time.
