But’s that where this beer stopped being cool. Malty beer with a hop finish that left a metallic taste on my palate. Nice gimmick. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma is of pumpkin seeds, almonds and toffee. Also noticeable hops as well. Taste is malty, flavors of seeds and carrots. Mouthfeel is light, sort of thin. An interesting bottle, interesting colour. OVerall i thought it was a decent brew but nothing incredible. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Holy shit, this stuff is fucking blood red. Holy hell does that look delicious. Nose: nothing... extremely transparent and mild. Close your eyes and it actually does come across as a marzen or vienna, there’s a nice smoothness throughout, almost creamy, and a nice and even caramel toffee malt flavor with a touch of fruity and dried hop leaves. Interesting beer if you can get past the color. Not all that bad, the body is especially nice, very creamy and thick. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Blood red pour with pink head! And a 6.66 abv! I was a little freaked out at first. Nose is light grain and a little grass. Flavor is malty up front but has a dose of hops in the finish. Medium thin body. Don’t think this beer is particularly that good, but as a novelty, I will definitely pick up a bottle or two every year for Halloween! drfabulous (1267), Columbia, Missouri, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 16, 2008 garnet pour with a fizzy red head. Strangely similar in looks to the likes of cheerwine. Medium to thick bodied. Big caramel malt flavor. Very hoppy for a marzen. KnutAlbert (3216), Oslo, Norway

A rather malty Octoberfest beer, it is quite fruity for the style, and has full malty body. But I have probelems getting excited over what is, really, a straightforward lager as lagers should be. unclemattie (2431), Georgia, USA

14oct08.
tap @ TacoMac, Johns Creek. Bright red, just like Hawaiian Punch, tall pink fizzy head. everyone at the bar asked what it was. A very big, sweet floral aroma of hops. cooling aroma. Smells definitly not what it looks like. After the initial sip, the appearance will still throw you off. it looks like you’d be enjoying a tart raspberry lambic, no sir, you were wrong. This thing is all Märzen. Well balanced, lots of caramel malt flavors, very nice hop character. It just looks F’n crizay. It just ain’t right, you know!
Absolutely rememberable!
