Pours blood red with a soapy dark pink head. I loathe artificial coloring (or anything artificial) in beer. The aroma has toasted malt, sweet marzen caramel and just a bit of hops. Medium body with some weird slickness and underlying carbonation. The flavor starts somewhat medicinal, muddy malt, spicy hops and some plastic. The finish has lingering plastic, spicy hops and semi-sweet malt. On the positive side it is unique, on the negative side it’s impossible for me to enjoy. This sucks, but I’m looking forward to seeing their next new beer redeeming them. Pawola22 (783), Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Love the Halloween blood idea. Very small, fizzy, pink head. Cool looking beer for sure. The aroma is better than people are giving this credit for. Very sweet caramel malts with a distinct candy cherry smell. Some grassy citrus hoppiness to it as well. The flavor is very nice for an "Oktoberfest," actually. Nice balance of sweet malts and a hint of cherry flavor with the sharp piny/citrus hop bitterness. No hint of alcohol whatsoever. Pretty full bodied and finishes really tart, dry, grassy, and sticky. Overall, really cool beer. Deserves a better rating than its currently being awarded. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 6, 2008 Red like strawberry soda. Freakish looking brew. I was almost afraid to taste it but no pop aroma. Has a pink half-inch head. Taste is nothing like it looks. Flavor is like a tasty West Coast APA or lower-end IPA. Hoppy with a substantial malt backing. Grapefruit-orange hop flavor. Abv says 6.66%, get it? (666) Very tasty bizzarely colored brew. Perfect to have at a Halloween party. Cool label too. joekinty (263), rockledge, Florida, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2008 Nice caramelized malt aromas with citrus piney hops. Mostly clear with a really scary red color with a moderate red head. No way this is an Oktoberfest, but a pretty nice American pale ale with nice grassy piney hop flavor. Medium body and mouthfeel. Interesting hop profile - kind of minty resiny and floral. Finish is grainy with moderate lingering bitterness. redlight (1496), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2008 draft @ redlight redlight. Grassy hop aromas with some malty sweetness too. Pours clear red, like thin blood or a Kriek with a thin pink head. Grassy hop bitterness upfront with hints of honey malts. Its a bit too hoppy for an oktoberfest, but thats probably why i like it! Its kind of gimicky but its so fun! RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Oh my god it pours blood red. Aroma is sweet with mild fruit and malt tones. Color is a hazy red with mild carbonation and thin but tight pink head. Taste is tart and malty. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish comes on with a mild malt tone that has a trace of raspberry, this turns tart and ends bitter. After taste has a sweetness and a fruit like taste. Its a nice brew to drink, the coolest part is seeing a bright red liquid pour out and its a nice fresh taste. But as a Märzen it not very good, there is little malt character nor the bold feel of a true Octoberfest brew. Still a fun brew with 6.66% ABV and blood red color. I like this brew and have rated as such, but as I said it is not a good example of a Märzen. fidel (1010), Livermore, California, USA
