From a 22-oz bottle pours a dark amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a hint of raisin, some light chocolate and berries. Taste is quite sweet, light in carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, chocolate dark pitted fruits and some light raisin. Finish has a sweet caramel and apricot aftertaste that slowly disappears. badlizard (2345), Berkeley, California, USA

That is a strange classification for a beer that, for me at least, comes off almost like an imperial red or something. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a nice off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt, dark fruits, and citrusy hops. Flavor is a somewhat generic malt profile, some caramel, slight raisin, orange, and apricot, and citrusy hops. Body is medium and palate is somewhat lively with high carbonation. Overall, above average but nothing too interesting. Metalhead (571), Lake Zurich, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 22, 2009 Deep amber pour with a short lived 2 finger head.Aroma malty sweet with maybe some raisin. First sip was semi boozy malt raisin , molasses with a thick mouth feel and dry finish. The dry finish went away shortly into it. Very stomach warming too.
The name is deceiving calling it a lager when it’s gotta be a strong doppelbock.
Not bad but the thick booziness made it take a while to finish Aurelius (2647), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Lots of cherry and chocolate in the flavor profile, boozy and not terribly metallic. Oily mouth. Beats some of the other wierd stuff from this brewery. rcasta (474), El Salvador
