The aroma has red fruits and dark malt which seems to have no roast or toast to it. It’s not complex, but comes across nice. Medium clean smooth body with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with sweet malt that doesn’t get too cloying with some earthy hops and spice. The finish has a mix of the malt and hops that’s pretty well balanced. Is this a doppel ~ nope; is it good for the price ~ yes. Good beer that is worth trying. Sparky27 (1608), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Bomber. Pours a clear dark amber with a dense 2 finger light tan head that leaves decent lacing. The nose is caramel and sweet fruits. The taste is caramel and sweet citrus with a mild bitter grapefruit finish. The ABV comes in at the end as well. Medium bodied. Comes off more like a malty DIPA. Not bad. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2009 Orlando, Fl. - Knightly Spirits, 22 oz bomber. Pours a nice dark copper with a spongy off white head that leaves a tad of sticky lacing. Wort-like aroma with hints of grain and molasses. Flavor is chock full of molasses, dates, raisins, candied sugar and a wee bit of booziness - but deceptive at 10%. Mouthfeel is thickish. Very decent. jimbowood (956), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Draft from Aroma’s. Much better than it’s 56% ranking would suggest. Very full flavored for a lager. Nice. fakepurseninja (785), Washington, USA

Sweet fruity character that has to be sandblasted out of the mouth its so heavy. SDalkoholic (1196), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 31, 2009 Bottle from Pizza Port’s bottle shop: The initial aroma was similar to a brown ale style because of the nutty and light toasted malt scent. Viewed through my eyes as a burnt orange with reddish tint and small development of head but overall wasn’t attractive to look at. The flavor is intensely strong with warm alcohol and almost spirit like but the only thing worth mentioning in terms of tasted element, I’d have to only mention that their was a sweet malt profile and lightly toasted caramel style malts. I mean if it weren’t for the high alcohol content to give me a good feeling I’d have really hated this beer. mjg74 (2000), La Mesa, California, USA
