Mar 28, 2009 Pours a transparent dark copper amber with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet toasty caramel malt with some light fruity character and noble hops. Starts with decent fullness and caramely malt with some light fruitiness and a slightly more bitter piny hop finish. Hides its alcohol fairly well. A decent doppelbock.

Mar 28, 2009 22oz bomber served in a Duvel tulip. Poured a copper/gold with a thin tan head. Malty aroma with a little molasses and some noble hops. Full bodied and rich. More malt in the flavor, caramel sweetness. There are some hops in the finish to balance. A bit of alcohol. I think the lager yeast almost makes it too clean. I don’t what you would call this: a lager barley wine? I like that Shmaltz tries a lot of different things, but this didn’t do much for me.

Mar 26, 2009 Bottle puchased by phukktifano at Once Upon A Vine - South on 03/25/2009. Very clear amber body with a large foamy off-white head. Sweet caramel and toasty malt aroma with some floral hop notes. Sweet caramel and light molassas flavor, some toasty notes with a bit of a sticky citrus hop finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Mar 26, 2009 Draft at Barcade. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Sweet grainy and caramel. Big floral hoppy etoh bite. So alcoholic it almost comes off like grain vodka. Wow what a pine alcoholic smash.

Mar 25, 2009 Draft at The Brass Tap (Wesley Chapel, FL). Amber color with an off white head. Caramel malt aroma with noticeable alcohol presence. Caramel/toffee sweetness in the flavor as well, but overall the flavor just wasn’t that good. The alcohol was too prominent and overpowered the other flavors.

Mar 25, 2009 How about the name of this stuf: Coney Island Human Blockhead! Rude looking neck label: arouse yer lickwid curiousities, amaze yer oral sensibilities and induldge yer inner beer freak! Smell is a little fumey when I pop the lid on this bomber. Deep red orange hues in my beer glass, filtered. Sparkling with an ever restoring thin tea froth creamy head. Quite malty strong. Needs manners. Medicinal at times, wew. Quite a kick for a dopple, probably should be a trippelbock. Yep, you know there is alky in this, feels like 12%. Oppressive finish.
