| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Bomber. Clear, reddish tinged amber with a loose beige head. Fruity nose, light sweet caramel, earthy notes. Rather boozy (oh, it’s 10%!) up front, rich caramel and earthy, a bit vinous. Alcoholic finish. Decent lace rings. OK, but seems overdone. asedzie (454), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours deep amber with thin off-white head. Nose is grainy backed by fruity hop aroma. Palate on the lighter side. Light toasted grain flavor, not sweet, varied vegetal hop flavors in the background and in the aftertaste. I thought this was superb for an alternative style lager, not sure it fits the doppelbock style, but loved it anyway Barrios (858), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Pours a lacing almost tan head with an amber body. Smells of brown sugar, ripe fruit, and a little malt. Tastes like the aroma. Finish has some sweetness and alcohol. vyvvy (2043), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Pours bronze and reddish with a rocky off-white head. The aroma has red fruits and dark malt which seems to have no roast or toast to it. It’s not complex, but comes across nice. Medium clean smooth body with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with sweet malt that doesn’t get too cloying with some earthy hops and spice. The finish has a mix of the malt and hops that’s pretty well balanced. Is this a doppel ~ nope; is it good for the price ~ yes. Good beer that is worth trying. Sparky27 (1596), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Bomber. Pours a clear dark amber with a dense 2 finger light tan head that leaves decent lacing. The nose is caramel and sweet fruits. The taste is caramel and sweet citrus with a mild bitter grapefruit finish. The ABV comes in at the end as well. Medium bodied. Comes off more like a malty DIPA. Not bad. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2009 Orlando, Fl. - Knightly Spirits, 22 oz bomber. Pours a nice dark copper with a spongy off white head that leaves a tad of sticky lacing. Wort-like aroma with hints of grain and molasses. Flavor is chock full of molasses, dates, raisins, candied sugar and a wee bit of booziness - but deceptive at 10%. Mouthfeel is thickish. Very decent. jimbowood (953), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Draft from Aroma’s. Much better than it’s 56% ranking would suggest. Very full flavored for a lager. Nice.
