I was surprised at this - it was a solid doppelbock. Sweet, pruney-cherry aroma. Lots of cherry and chocolate in the flavor profile, boozy and not terribly metallic. Oily mouth. Beats some of the other wierd stuff from this brewery.

Ruby brown with a tall tan head. Aroma is mildly doggy, with a whiff of bread. Taste is rather like an industrial doppelbock with boozy fusel character and thin flavors.

Draught at Barcade, New York
Brown color, quite dark. The aroma is lightly Madeirised. Good caramel flavor, too much oxidisation and alcohol, nutty too; strong ending bitterness, maybe too much. A bit chaotic for me.

Tap @ The He’Brew Bash at the Blind Tiger NYC. I was fricking wasted by the end so some of these rates might be a bit odd. Mega clear, some light hoppiness on the nose. Super rich and full, sweet yet bitter and sooo good.

Bottle. Poured a nice deep, ruby red with a gluey head. The aroma is thick with sugar, hinting at a viscous drink. Indeed, this drinks with a robust character, full of strong, cooked sucrose. Good beer for a chilly Sunday on the couch with football. (#3764, 12/6/2009)

Received this via Secret Santa 2008. From a 22-oz bottle pours a dark amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a hint of raisin, some light chocolate and berries. Taste is quite sweet, light in carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, chocolate dark pitted fruits and some light raisin. Finish has a sweet caramel and apricot aftertaste that slowly disappears.

On tap at the beer store sf. Nice copper brown with a creamy white head. Sweet candy and malt aroma. Molasses candy brown sugar taste.
