Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Aug 31, 2009 Pours gold with a nice white head. Smells of crisp pilsner malt, some skunky hints. Tastes of dry pilsner malt, grassy, some peppery hints on the finish. beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Aug 22, 2009 On tap at Dave’s Cold Beer and Soda in Bellport. Pours a pale gold with a thin linen white head. The aroma is quite subdued with a few notes of malt and just a bit of grassy hops and that’s about it. The flavor is mild malt but with a more assertive dose of grassy hops than the aroma presented. Nice crisp refreshing finish. As an aside, I like that this beer honors the annual Coney Island mermaid parade. Radek Kliber (3912), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Aug 20, 2009 On tap at Rattle N Hum
Appearance: pale golden brew with mid top. 3- Nose: Aromatic , light floral nose , sweet feel , pleasant with citric touch. 6+ Flavor/Palate : Soft base with rougher frontal citric bitterness. Hop character felt bit miss paired to malt. Perhaps it was to thin. I can see what they tried to accomplish, not a bad idea but for that you need rounder soft malts as base.
blipp (1630), Newark, New Jersey, USA Aug 19, 2009 Draft. Pours gold with a while head. Light malty aroma with some nice grassy hop notes. The flavor is well balanced, but on the bland side. Hop notes are lighter in the flavor than on the nose. Not bad. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Jul 6, 2009 Tap at RnH. Thick, sweaty, terribly flawed flavor. Very sweet, with only a mild hopping. Way off base. The nose has some nice German hops. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Jul 6, 2009 Tap at Rattle n Hum: Clear golden pour with a dense white film that retains fairly well. Fresh aroma- zesty saaz with a grassy noble character with an underlying dry crackery pils base. Nice smooth carbonation with a decent hop presence. Biscuity/crackery- very clean overall with a moderate noble hop peppery bitter finish. A solid pils. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 5, 2009 Tap at Rattle N Hum. Crystal clear golden pour. Thick white head. Aroma is nice... light crackery malts with a soft herbal hoppy note. Fairly floral and fresh tasting. Soft hoppy bitterness with a lingering floral note. It’s definitely got enough hops to notice them in there. Moderate bitterness. Good balance. Nice and clean with a firm bitter finish. Nice summer quaffer.
