cmillward (418), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 25, 2008 Draft @ redlight redlight. Pours a clear amber with a small white head. On the nose light malt and quite hoppy (floral) all done very smoothly. In flavor hoppy, bitter, toasty malt, quite tasty. Finish is crisp and smooth with a nice bitter hoppiness. Quite impressed for a domestic lager! Hophead22 (1056), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA Sep 22, 2008 22oz bottle. Nice looking beer, dark gold with a nice white head. Nice hoppy aroma. Full hop flavor, real nice for a lager. Pretty good. drfabulous (1211), Columbia, Missouri, USA Sep 18, 2008 Wow. Not a lager. Let’s call this an IPA. In fact, when I blind tasted it, I thought it was Lenny R.I.P.A. but off a bit. If all lagers were like this , I’d drink them every day. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Sep 18, 2008 bottle - Pours deep gold and clear with a one finger slow fading head that laces well. The aroma is of floral hops, some grainy malt, and a hint of citrus. The flavor is moderately hopped with enough pale malt to balance it out. The result is a good, quaffable beer. durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Sep 17, 2008 Draft. Dark golden/light amber pour. Interesting beer that doesn’t quite seem to know what it’s going for. Tasted more like an American pale ale to me. Did not seem abundantly hoppy. Somewhat grassy and sweet. Some flowery notes. Just okay overall. TheGent (142), , Massachusetts, USA Sep 17, 2008 was curious to try this after having a different offering from coney island and I can say they make some unusual beer. The nose was very grassy and woody or even some burnt wood that lended a smoke note to the nose. appearance was an ok gold with generous head amount. taste was bitter grains with hints of sweetness and metal. Just kind of odd overall but what should i expect from a beer themed as a freak show. TheBeerGod (3142), Newport News, Virginia, USA Sep 14, 2008 Bottle. Gold pour. Nose is floral hops, grassy notes, toasty malts, citrus fruit, and soft honey. Taste is flowery hops, grassy notes, lemon, fruit notes, honey and grains/bread. Body is a bit chewy while having a medium overall feel on the palate. Carbonation is strong with being a burden. Dense and bubbly, really. Finishes with lingering citrus fruit notes, lemon juice, flowery hops, light melon, hjoney, grains, and malt. A so-so beer that kind of hit the "refreshing spot" tonight. bitbucket (2024), Kirkland, Washington, USA Sep 11, 2008 Bomber. Pours hazy dark gold with a thin and frothy but surprisingly lacy white head. Floral/herbal hops with some nutty malt in the aroma. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Bits and pieces of bread, fruit, honey in the taste. Earth and lightly piny-crisp finish. Not too bad for a beer style that doesn’t seem to aspire to greatness.
